On March 9, 2009, the Texas Education Agency in partnership with Governor Rick Perry, Senator Jane Nelson and Dr. Kenneth Cooper, founder and chairman of The Cooper Institute, announced the correlation data between the statewide FITNESSGRAM® testing results and three main areas: academic performance (TAKS scores), student attendance rates, and student disciplinary incidents.

This site provides a closer look at those results in the form of static and interactive maps. Data is broken down by region, which are divided by Texas’s 20 Educational Service Centers (ESC), and by county. Data tables of regional and county information are also provided.

Map data is provided in PDF, JPEG and KML formats. The PDFs can be viewed with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. For ease of download, the JPEG files have been compressed and placed into .zip files. The KML files can be viewed by downloading either the free Google Earth or ESRI ArcGIS Explorer globe viewing applications.
